The Greenfingers Charity is calling on supporters to get on their bikes for an unforgettable fundraising challenge in 2027, cycling more than 300 miles from London to Amsterdam to help create magical gardens for children and families who spend time in hospices.

Taking place from 15^th – 19^th September 2027, the London to Amsterdam Cycle Challenge will see participants cover approximately 335 miles across the UK, France, Belgium and the Netherlands, before crossing the finish line in the Dutch capital.

Delivered in partnership with Global Adventure Challenges, the five-day event has been graded ‘tough’ and promises a memorable experience for anyone looking to push themselves, take on a new adventure and raise vital funds for the Greenfingers Charity.

Individuals, friends, colleagues and company teams are all encouraged to take part, with plenty of time to train, fundraise and build excitement ahead of the challenge.

A challenge with real purpose

Every mile cycled will help support Greenfingers Charity’s work designing, creating and maintaining therapeutic gardens at children’s hospices across the UK.

These special outdoor spaces give children with life-limiting conditions, their families and hospice staff somewhere to spend valuable time together away from the clinical environment. Greenfingers gardens create opportunities for play, reflection, respite and precious family memories.

Linda Petrons, Director of Fundraising & Communications at Greenfingers, said: “We’re incredibly excited to launch our London to Amsterdam challenge and would love to see as many people as possible joining us on the start line.  Cycling 335 miles across four countries is certainly going to be a challenge, but that is exactly what makes it such a fantastic fundraising opportunity. It’s something participants can really throw themselves into.

“Most importantly, every turn of the pedals will be helping us create more Greenfingers gardens and provide children and families with beautiful outdoor spaces in which they can spend precious time together.”

Take on the challenge together

The London to Amsterdam ride also offers a fantastic opportunity for businesses to bring colleagues together around a shared goal. Teams can train and fundraise together in the months leading up to the event, while businesses can involve customers, colleagues and wider networks in supporting their riders along the way.

Participants don’t need to be experienced long-distance cyclists to sign up. With the challenge taking place in September 2027, there is plenty of time to prepare, build fitness and get ready for the road ahead.

Registration costs £149, with participants able to choose between a minimum sponsorship target of £2,250 or a self-funded option of £1,125.
