“We believe the four new Salvia varieties are the best Salvia selections on the market, with our range led by Salvia ‘Love & Wishes’, which is a truly exceptional variety. Geranium ‘Purple Ghost’ demonstrates true breeding inspiration as this is the first white flowered variety with such dark leaves.

“We were delighted that during the trade show Salvia ‘Love and Wishes’ was awarded the Best Plant Introduction – Nursery Stock Award. It thoroughly deserves the win. If you would like to find out more about our new varieties please get in touch.”

Fuchsia ‘Thumbelina Gem’ – a stunning new hardy Fuchsia with compact growth habit and golden yellow foliage. It will be dripping with large red/purple flowers throughout the summer period. Fantastic impulse plants. Flowers from May to September.

Geranium ‘Purple Ghost’ – the most impressive dark leaved Geranium. White flowered, detailed with black anthers and dark veins, which contrast beautifully on dark, purple black foliage. Great mildew tolerance. Flowers from May to June.

Raspberry ‘Ruby Beauty’ (with Frank P Matthews) – a true dwarf Raspberry, reaching just 1m high and 50cm wide. The plants are thornless and do not need caning or support. Each plant will produce approximately 1.5kg of fantastically flavoured fruit from June onwards. Plant one plant into a 10L pot or three into a 40L. Ideally suited for the patio, kitchen or wildlife gardens.

Salvia ‘Clotted Cream’ – beautiful creamy flowers and a gorgeous subtle scent. A compact plant, less brittle than other Salvia. Perfect for cottage gardens or container planting. Attractive to wildlife. Flowers from June to October.

Salvia ‘Joy’ – a very attractive scented salvia with long lasting two tone pink flowers throughout the summer. It forms a neat compact mound shape reaching 50-60cm tall with lovely fresh green foliage. This plant is ideal for a range of areas, such as beds, borders and containers. Flowers from June to September.

Salvia ‘Love and Wishes’ – a tremendous member of the ‘Wish’ Salvia series. Deep purple flowers with deep burgundy calyces, dark green foliage and dark stems combine superbly to create a stunning plant. In the garden it has a very long flowering time from June through to November and is a terrific potted specimen.

Salvia ‘Super Trouper’ – an excellent ornamental sage. It has a bushy form which produces an abundance of flowers that are a rich violet blue, fading to mauve, which open in succession at the ends of each stem over a long period from midsummer. Truly dazzling with scented foliage.

Wyevale Nurseries is one of the largest family-run wholesale nurseries in the UK. It was established in 1930 by Harry Williamson, a horticulturist and entrepreneur. It became the company it is today under the leadership of his son, Peter, who sadly passed away in 2011.

The Williamsons’ saw the opportunity to sell their product to an undeveloped retail market, creating one of the first garden centres, followed by a chain. In 1987, the retail side needed to expand and the 19 garden centres were sold as a PLC.

The family then turned its focus to Wyevale Nurseries Ltd. It continues to be a family-run business with ownership and joint chairmanship currently being held by the third generation, Heather and Simeon Williamson, with plans for the fourth generation to takeover in the future.

Wyevale Nurseries has a significant product range and is regularly introducing new plants. It offers a large variety of trees, shrubs, hedging, herbaceous and specimen plants to garden centres, landscape contractors, local authorities, foresters and landowners.
