Stay safe this summer with new anti-slip decking product

DeckWright decking has natural appeal, is perfect for entertaining and relaxing on and is relatively low-maintenance.

But there is one major drawback – it can become very slippery when wet.

And with the Great British weather as unpredictable as ever, there’s a new product on the market to help gardeners enjoy the outdoors in rain and shine.

The DeckWright innovation was developed by timber and metal components firm WJ Group to complement its DeckWrightexisting timber treatment services for decking and fencing.

DeckWright anti-slip inserts can be retrofitted to almost any grooved decking quickly and easily using standard tools.

They come with a five-year warranty and there’s even an online calculator to help customers work out how many DeckWright inserts they need.

The inserts work by using a universally shaped plastic T-bar that holds a resin and aggregate formulation.

When fixed into a deck board groove using the specially formulated adhesive, the insert sits a little proud of the timber deck and provides a reassuring grip.

With decking often laid directly to doors on homes, conservatories, lodges and caravans, DeckWright is an essential product to help prevent slips throughout the seasons.

It is usual to apply DeckWright inserts to two grooves in each decking board for maximum effectiveness.

DeckWrightFully tested and approved, DeckWright provides a robust and attractive solution for non-slip decking, with long-lasting results.

For larger commercial projects, such as decking areas at garden centres, nurseries, play areas or cafes, DeckWright can also be added to timber boards before they are fitted.

This is available through DeckWright’s anti-slip service and there’s no minimum order required. This service is also suitable for grooved composite decking.

There is even a range of colours available ranging from eye-catching shades to muted tones which complement the wood.

The standard colour for DeckWright inserts is Granite Grey – designed to provide a subtle addition to the natural character of the timber deck – and is the one you’ll find the 25m kit.

However, for customers wishing to highlight this important safety enhancement more prominently or perhaps coordinate anti-slip decking inserts with a particular colour-scheme, Pillar Box Red, Bright Yellow and Cobalt Blue are available in 250 metre bulk boxes.

Further colours are available on a bespoke basis depending on quantity.
